PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY

PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1898 June 12, Philippine independence declared: “During the Spanish-American War, Filipino rebels led by Emilio Aguinaldo proclaim the independence of the Philippines after 300 years of Spanish rule. By mid-August, Filipino rebels and U.S. troops had ousted the Spanish, but Aguinaldo’s hopes for independence were dashed when the United States formally annexed the Philippines as part of its peace treaty with Spain.”

Independence Day is a Philippine national holiday celebrated every year on June 12 to commemorate the country's declaration of independence from Spain in 1898. On Independence Day, national heroes' sacrifices are commemorated, the country's sovereignty is respected, citizens are instilled with nationalism, and the culture and tradition of the people are celebrated. The Philippines' independence was a huge accomplishment. On Independence Day, national heroes' sacrifices are commemorated, the country's sovereignty is respected, citizens are instilled with nationalism, and the culture and tradition of the people are celebrated.

I can now claim that our country's independence day is significant, but not the most significant, because every heroes day or event commemorating our Philippine heroes is significant. This means that not only Independence Day, but all celebrations commemorating our country's heroes are significant.
